The science of chemistry centers around matter, its structure, its properties, and the processes which change them. Chemistry can be said to be at the epicenter of the natural science. It connects abstract notions from physics with fields such as biology, geology and a variety of engineering disciplines. Chemistry is crucially important to the synthesis of new material, such as drugs.
The academic programs offered by the faculty are designed to give a strong background in all areas of chemistry, and to give our graduates the necessary skills to engage in research and compete in the job market. We offer a basic three year program studies-smallin chemistry, as well as several (typically four-year) interdisciplinary programs, offered jointly with other faculty, such as biology and material engineering. The Faculty also offers graduate programs leading to M. Sc. and Ph.D. degrees.
